The Honourable Minister of State for Environment, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako, has commended the National President of Majlis Ansarullah Ahmadiyya Nigeria (MAAN), also known as the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association, Alhaji Dauda Abiola Raji, for the organization’s impactful contributions to national development. He made this remark during a courtesy visit by MAAN to the Federal Ministry of Environment in Abuja on August 22, 2024.
Dr. Salako lauded Majlis Ansarullah for its dedication to community service and for consistently organizing peaceful and beneficial conventions since its establishment in 1974. He also acknowledged the broader efforts of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria in fostering national unity and development.
“There is no doubt that Ahmadiyya is an asset to Nigeria. Thank you for the invaluable services you are rendering to humanity,” he stated. He further emphasized that true service to God is found in helping others, especially those who cannot repay one’s kindness, describing it as a genuine form of worship.
Reflecting on his personal journey, the Minister remarked, “Ahmadiyya shaped my life. I will always be grateful for the way it influenced my upbringing.”
On behalf of the government, Dr. Salako expressed appreciation for the Ahmadiyya community’s contributions to Nigeria and its people. Acknowledging the nation’s current challenges, he reassured that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is committed to addressing them. “We need your prayers and support. It is only Allah who appoints a leader, sustains him, and grants him success,” he added.
Earlier in the meeting, Alhaji Raji conveyed his gratitude to the Minister for his warm reception and recognition of MAAN’s efforts. He outlined key initiatives undertaken in preparation for the upcoming convention, including a two-day medical outreach in Kamonrajigi, a welfare visit to the Abuja Children’s Home, and several strategic courtesy visits.
The National President further highlighted MAAN’s long-term impact on society, such as its investments in education through school construction, the provision of essential services to underserved communities, and free medical assistance to promote public health.
Concluding the visit, the Sadr extended his best wishes and prayers for the Minister’s continued service, as well as for the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
