The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Adebowale Lawal, has praised the service of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community while receiving the Sadr Majlis Ansarullah Ahmadiyya Nigeria (Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association), Alh. Dauda Raji, and his entourage on 21st August 2025 during a courtesy visit ahead of the 49th Annual Ijtema. “We can’t thank you enough for your prayers and support, and we will continue to ask for more,” CP Lawal remarked. He appreciated the Jama’at’s service to humanity, wished continued strength for its leadership, and encouraged Muslim youths to follow the path of goodness by carrying the baton of virtues. The Commissioner urged that religion should be practiced in its true sense, rather than being misused as a tool for terrorism. He assured that the police would continue to safeguard security without harassment or discrimination, while stressing that religious leaders must keep preaching peace to help avert a third world war. He further pledged that the Police Command would be duly represented at the convention. In his address, Alh. Dauda Raji noted that this year’s 49th Annual Majlis Ansarullah Ijtema will be held in Ondo State, following the previous gathering in Abuja in 2024. He explained that the Jama’at’s services to humanity go hand-in-hand with worship of God, highlighting contributions in education, most recently the establishment of Minaret University, Ikirun, as well as welfare and relief programs extended to needy and remote communities, irrespective of faith or background.
