Abeokuta Dil’a Welfare and Tabligh Visit to Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Lantoro Annex, Abeokuta
As Salaam Alaykum Waramotullah Wabarakatuh, It is often said that WELFARISM IS A PINNACLE FOR SUSTAINABLE SOCIETY Abeokuta Dil’a MAAN paid a courtesy visit to mentally ill patients at NEURO PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL LANTORO ANNEX, ABEOKUTA with the following items as Donations from the Humanity First Nigeria (HFN): 👉 MILO BEVERAGES – 1 CARTON (SERCHETE) 👉 TOILET ROLL… 2 CARTONS 👉 DETERGENT… 2 CARTONS 👉 TOOTH PASTE – 1 CARTON (SERCHETE) The Nazim A’la, Bro. Ismail MORENIKEJI and his entourage were received at the guest room by one of the Nurses on duty. We were first briefed on the Historical background about the establishment of the Hospital, that Professor Adeoye LAMBO started with 77 STAFF . Some of their Patients were put in the REHABILITATION HOME , because some of them were abandoned after the Second World War. As a result of Trauma from the War they could not be able to recognize or reunited with their Families any more. Presently there are some Aged Patients like Baba POPO, Baba LAFENWA who are about 92 years of Age. There were also Mrs. Gbekutan and Mrs. Amudat LABAKE, women who also took part in the War front and were put in the Rehabilitation Home before their demise. In 2006 when the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar wanted to visit Ogun State, there was a directive to evacuate all mentally ill Patients from the town and put them into the Rehabilitation Home for the Streets to be free of Mentally ill people. POPULATION: In the Female Rehabilitation Ward, there are 16 Patients while 11 Patients are in the Male Ward. We were made to realize that gone were the days when Government fund the Mental Health, but presently it is now left in the hands of the Management to cater for them. In her words, the leading Nurse was full of appreciation to Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at and the Donor, Humanity First Nigeria (HFN). She said the Organization has been able to put smiles on the faces of the Patients especially as the Eid ul Adha is nearly approached. She added that if other Religiou/Charity Organizations like ours join hands with them, the Society would be free of Mentally ill people. The Nurse also revealed that sometimes they as well contribute funds personally among themselves once the need arises. The Nurses used the opportunity to further appeal and solicit for our assistance to donate generously for different items like: 👉🏿 USED CLOTHES 👉🏿 TOILETRIES 👉🏿 DETERGENT 👉🏿 TOOTH PASTE 👉🏿 RAW FOOD etc in our subsequent visit just as we did during this visitation. The Nurse thereafter prayed for the progress and upliftment of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at and Humanity First Nigeria (HFN). ” PROPHET MUHAMMAD (S.A.W) REPORTED THAT ONE WHO EAT TO HIS FILL AND HIS NEIGHBOURS WERE HUNGRY IS NOT PART OF US” Earlier, the Nazim A’la intimated the host about the laudable projects and programs the Jama’at and HFN have embarked on as part of the reasons Almighty Allah mandated Muslim Ummah for the welfare of mankind. He said that Ahmadiyya as religious body has tremendously impacted a lot on the Society in many ways such Education, Health, Infrastructures, Welfare etc. He therefore assured the Management that his entourage would come to their aids in that regards according to their capabilities. Missionary Adebowale Muh. Jamiu lead the delegates in prayers for the Rehabilitation Home. Breakdown of Analysis of Expenses incurred: 1. ₦35,000 – 1 Carton of Milo Beverage (Serchet). 2. ₦15,900 – 2 Cartons of Detergents (Serchet) 3. ₦21,000 – 1 Carton of Bathing Soap 4. ₦11,600 – 1 Carton of Toothpaste (Close Up – Serchet) 5. ₦18,400 – 2 Packs Toilet Roll 6. ₦10,000 – Logistics/PR for the Staff Total = ₦111,900 Amount incurred on Provisions to the Neuro Psychiatric Hospital Lantoro Annex, Abeokuta.

Nazim A’la admonished them to always give special thanks to Almighty Allah for his blessings, favour and gift of life as no condition is permanent. He said if there is life there is hope. He highlighted the activities of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria and explained in details how Humanity First Nigeria (HFN) have touched many life and different Communities. The Imam on behalf of the Inmates appreciated Majlis Ansarullah Ahmadiyya Nigeria (MAAN), Humanity First Nigeria (HFN) and Abeokuta Dil’a MAAN for the Welfare Visit and donation of gift items earlier mentioned above. The Imam of the Correctional Centre revealed that they will appreciate it more if we can as well donate Neat used Clothes, Detergents, Bathing Soap, Islamic Literatures and any other donation in kind, that can make life meaningful for them to feel sense of belonging. In his own response, the Chaplain (Officer in-charge) appreciated the kind gesture and efforts of Majlis Ansarullah Ahmadiyya Abeokuta Dil’a so far since they have being coming to Ibara Correctional Centre. The Officer added that the constant visit has positively impacted on the life of the Inmates and that Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at is always welcomed anytime any day. He however said that the little contributions from Religious Bodies like ours always complements the government efforts as well. He closed his remarks with prayers for the Jama’at at large. Meanwhile, earlier during our stay, over hundred flayers of the Jama’at were handed over to the Imam of the Centre for distribution and reading among themselves. The Team was only restricted to a few photographs of the items that were donated and handed over to the Representative of the Welfare Officer (Chaplain) only, as it is against the Ethics of the Centre to take photographs of the Inmates. In addition, our Dil’a wishes to take regular Tabligh and Welfare to the Centre as a Project , although this will depend largely on our ability to finance the Programme due to huge amount it requires.
