MAAN Ijtema 2024: Majlis Ansarullah Ahmadiyya Nigeria Transforms Lives with Successful Medical Outreach
In a remarkable demonstration of humanitarian service, Majlis Ansarullah Ahmadiyya Nigeria (MAAN) successfully hosted a two-day medical outreach on August 21st and 22nd, 2024, at the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Primary Health Clinic in Karon-Majigi. This outreach was a key initiative leading up to the organization’s annual convention. The event commenced with an opening address by the National President (Amir) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria, Alh. AbdulAzeez Alatoye, delivered on his behalf by the Vice President (Naib Amir) Special Duties, Barr. Sirajuddin Abdus Salam Kofo. In his remarks, Barr. Sirajuddin highlighted the far-reaching humanitarian efforts of the Ahmadiyya community, including the establishment of the Humanity First organization, which undertakes various initiatives such as providing clean water through boreholes, health facilities and surgeries, disaster relief, and power supply systems. He emphasized that the resources for these charitable activities are pooled from donations by community members, underscoring the importance of life-saving and life-enhancing services as integral to the teachings of Islam. “Giving back to the community is a core value of our Jama’at, rooted in our motto, ‘Love for All, Hatred for None.’ We are committed to being our brothers’ keeper,” Barr. Sirajuddin stated. The National President (Sadr) of Majlis Ansarullah Ahmadiyya Nigeria, Alh. Dauda Abiola Raji, further elaborated that the free medical outreach is one of the essential pre-convention activities. While welcoming the beneficiaries, he encouraged them to be patient and orderly as they received care. The Hon. Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Muhammad Ali Pate (CON), represented by Prof. Saad Ahmed, Medical Director of the Federal Medical Center in Abuja, addressed the audience, reiterating the government’s commitment to making healthcare accessible under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He commended the organization for their commendable efforts and assured that the Ministry would be pleased to receive a report on the outreach. Prof. Saad also expressed the Ministry’s willingness to partner with Majlis Ansarullah in future initiatives, before officially declaring the outreach open by personally conducting the first blood pressure check. The outreach received high praise from the District Head (Hakimi) of Karonmajigi, HRH Alh. Yunusa Bako Abdullahi, and the esteemed Pastor of the ECWA Church in Karonmajigi, both of whom expressed deep gratitude for the life-changing benefits provided to the community. The medical services rendered during the outreach included health talks, medical consultations, blood pressure and blood sugar tests, distribution of free medications, and complimentary eyeglasses, among others. By the end of the outreach, a total of 640 people had benefitted: 167 individuals participated in the eye clinic, with 76 receiving free eyeglasses, and 262 people received various medical tests, all accompanied by the necessary prescribed medications.

The Honourable Minister of State for Environment, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako, has commended the National President of Majlis Ansarullah Ahmadiyya Nigeria (MAAN), also known as the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association, Alhaji Dauda Abiola Raji, for the organization’s impactful contributions to national development. He made this remark during a courtesy visit by MAAN to the Federal Ministry of Environment in Abuja on August 22, 2024. Dr. Salako lauded Majlis Ansarullah for its dedication to community service and for consistently organizing peaceful and beneficial conventions since its establishment in 1974. He also acknowledged the broader efforts of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria in fostering national unity and development. “There is no doubt that Ahmadiyya is an asset to Nigeria. Thank you for the invaluable services you are rendering to humanity,” he stated. Earlier in the meeting, Alhaji Raji conveyed his gratitude to the Minister for his warm reception and recognition of MAAN’s efforts. Dauda Abiola Raji, paid a courtesy visit to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander for the FCT, CC Chorie Muta’a Isah, at the FRSC Command in Abuja. During the visit, Sadr Raji expressed his deep appreciation for the Sector Commander’s warm reception and hospitality. He highlighted MAAN’s unwavering commitment to promoting safety, moral values, and positive teachings that contribute to a harmonious and peaceful society. Alh. Raji underscored that the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is distinguished for its virtuous conduct, firmly grounded in teachings that advocate obedience to laws and regulations while discouraging any form of vice. This visit was one of the pre-conference activities leading up to the annual convention at the M.K.O Abiola National Stadium, Abuja. During the visit, Sadr MAAN, Mr. Dauda Raji, emphasized the importance of kindness and compassion, central teachings of Islam, particularly towards the less privileged. Addressing the children at the orphanage, he shared inspiring lessons from the Holy Prophet on helping those in need and encouraged the children to see their caregivers as loving parental figures. Sadr Raji expressed deep admiration for the orphanage staff, praising their invaluable work and reassuring them that their efforts are recognized and will be divinely rewarded. He urged the children to reciprocate the love and care extended to them, fostering an atmosphere of harmony within their home. He also encouraged the children to aim high and achieve great heights, reminding them that the orphanage is a product of the kindness of others. As they grow and succeed, they should also give back and support those in need, continuing the cycle of kindness. His Royal Highness expressed his admiration when he received the National President (Sadr) of the organization, Alh. Dauda Abiola Raji, and his delegation at his palace on 21st August 2024. During the visit, Sadr Alh. Raji extended his gratitude to the Ona for the warm reception and introduced the organization, highlighting its annual convention, which includes impactful activities such as orphanage visits, courtesy calls, and medical outreach programs. He explained that the convention, which rotates annually across different regions of the country, is a key part of the organization’s mission to promote peace and service to humanity. Alh.
